Any brain surgeons around?

Recommended Posts

Dr. Hekier, you are a blast!

Does anybody know where I can get a job that offers health insurance that covers this brain transplant?

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee says that brain transplants are still "experimental". I have 5 years of documented brain atrophy and 6 months of documentation to prove it. They also say that having a brain, at all, is "not medically necessary". I believe they prefer their customers to not have a brain so as to not create opposition for their stupid decisions.

I also believe that some of the folks that work for blue cross/blue shield already have a silicone band tied around their carotid arteries instead of their stomachs.

Dr. Hekier,

Oh, sweet mercy, that is so funny! Thanks for the comments. You made me feel better!

Here's a picture of a tragic case of slippage.

Not for the faint of heart.

OMG This is so funny! Thank you Dr. Hek for a true "Laughing Out Loud" moment. Wish you were my PCP! :pound:

I was wondering why all of the conversations with the Blue Cross reps were so muffled. Thanks for the visual. It explains a lot.

LMAOROFL... um, from someone who actually DOES have and has had professional MRI diagnosis of frontal lobe brain atrophy:sick . I would almost certainly be approved for this treatment:clap2: . Of course, since my once great insurance has now gone back to the 80's and I have to pay 20%, I'd have to figure how to sell my firstborn in order to actually take advantage.:faint:

This is very funny, in a sick sorta way.. but sheesh. Even with my brain atrophy and obesity problem, I feel fortunate after looking at that poor sick insurance person... :) :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
