New Here, Like To Tell You A Little Bit About Myself & Lapband Journey

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My name is Jessica I'm 40 years old, Live In CT, I started this LapBand Journey in Oct. 2011,

I was always a healthy person I weighed 100 pounds until I hit my 30rds after having my daughter,My current weight is 222 which for me with such a small frame is alot of weight..I can't do the thing I want to with my daughter,My back hurts just walking out of my driveway, I'm always out of breath, I now have sleep apena due to all this weight..I want to get back down to my current weight..I know the lapband is just a tool, But I have to do most of the work myself...My phytrist did not clear me the first time I went to see him,I have another appt with him today and I'm hoping he clears me today..I've been doing the work taking all drs suggestions, being honest with him,I don't know what more he wants..When I first went to my first appt. with the lap band surgeon I weighed 249 pounds, I am now 222punds so that over 25 pounds I lost, I'm trying to eat healthy, I know thats the biggest mental change for me..I quanity of food I consume and eating "Healthy"..But I really don't know what more this phytrists wants from me???Hopefully he will clear me today, So I can get my Surgery Date..Thanks for reading my bio any suggestions I will definately take..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
