Gained All Weight-Can I Still Get A Fill

Recommended Posts

It has been almost 3 years since my surgery and I really need to get on track. I am so frustrated with myself. Everytime I went for a fill I got no restriction so I quit going. If I start going back now will a fill help me get back on track or am I hopeless at this point????

I am guessing they would do a complete unfill and start the process over. This is supposed to help people when they've hit a wall.

I would not do a complete unfill. People say it never feels the same. Just get a fill and start over.

Just tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and let your doc make his or her recommendation...

If you never felt restriction from your fills perhaps there is an issue with your band? Maybe a leak? I would go see your doctor, tell them what you have told us. Don't give up!

I did not get restriction until 10.6 in a 11 CC band. Depending on how much fill you had you may never have gotten restriction. Go in and ask for a fill.

Get back in there! You are worth it and can do it!

My doctor told me NEVER give up, If I need to go in every week for fills, he would rather have that then not feel restriction. I have 6.5cc in a 14cc band right now, I only feel very slight restriction. I go back in on March 5th for another fill. You owe it to yourself to get back in there, get the fill (and if needed, have the dr do it under flouro to make sure everything is ok with your band) and feel the restriction.

Hi - This happened to me and when the Dr. (after 2 years) did a flouro - only cause hubby asked - the band had never been connected!

I agree with the others, maybe your band has a leak or something.

I had my 14cc band taken out an a new 10cc band put in. Now I feel restriction and love, love, love my band whereas before I didn't love it so much - LOL

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
