Recommended Posts

i dunno whats wrong with me latey...all of a sudden i am slipping back into bad habits again. Eating more then i am supposed to and not wanting to exercise. Im sure i need a fill bc i can eat alot more then i could say a month ago but i cant get one until april bc im having another surgery at the end of this week.

my question to all of you is how do u refocus and get back on track? i keep thinking tomorrow is another day but then somehow i screw up again (eat the wrong things make excuses not to workout). HELLLLP!!!

Actually I was lucky to have a horrible tummy bug last week which cleared me out and saw me drop several kilograms, now I"m all raring to go again as suddenly I fit into a heap of clothes.

Are you in a position to get away from those things you eat that you shouldn't? Like could you bring a lunch to work or something? I find that if I'm eating bad at work, if I take a few days and bring my meals, it helps me get back on track. Unfortunately as far as the gym goes, I just have to make myself go for a few days to get back on track with that. "I'm going today no matter WHAT!" is what I have to tell myself, and then I just have to do it. Or at least make sure you take a walk at some point during the day. Do *something* one way or another, you know?

Hope that helped some.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
