It's post-op day two, but according to convention, and I believe the lap-band makers, surgery is Day 1 for the purposes of calendars and your progression. Your doc should specify on his post-op instructions whether a plan or dietary restrictions are for post-op days 1-2, etc. If you have any question/concern, best to call the office!

My doctor said surgery was day one. I was scheduled for a 11:00 surgery which due to complications from the 10:00 surgery I was pushed out to 4:30. Buy the time they got me to my room all I did was sleep until day 2.

Thanks everyone. I have spoken to my Dr and he say that this is day 2. I don't have any appetite at all and am not ready for full liquids. I still can't even do Jello. It feels like it gets stuck going down :( However, I feel so much better today than the past couple of days. Getting up and down is getting much easier!

@ #Losin, Keep sipping and stay hydrated! I hope you feel much better soon! Maybe your doc can give you some phenergan to help with nausea and that yuck feeling? Walking around the house still seems to help things go down more easily.

@ mandyg, I have been really strict about low-carbing, even with the liquids and mushies... I just got my first fill this past Friday, but I seem to be even hungrier now and put on a pound over the weekend! I hope it all levels out for some slow steady shrinking! You'll have some ups and downs before surgery time, it's a great decision, and you'll be glad you did it! It's work, but so is being overweight! As for liquids, I had lots of sugar free popcicles and jellow and chicken broth, so it seemed more like I was getting some food, versus only Protein Shakes and Water drinks. I actually preferred to buy Progresso Soup, heat it up, and run it through a tight strainer to remove any and all bits and pieces. The broth was more flavorful than just plan chicken broth! After a few days, I tried eggs, and have been experimenting with omelettes, frittatas, and quiche with different spices and cheeses and spinach. The meats I've had have all been slow cooked in a crock pot, like roast and pork, cooked until really soft and seasoned. It's been kind of an adventure, since I used to be big on baking!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
