Being full, stuck, and a PB are three different things. PB or productive burp is just that, you burp and something comes up with it. Like when a baby spits up milk. Totally out of no where for me, just burp and surprise!

Eating too much and being uncomfortably full is not stuck. You ate too much. It hurts, but you can swallow your spit, things go down.

Stuck is a rock in your chest. Most times you cannot swallow your own spit. The pain is intense. Walking can help relieve it somewhat, but not entirely. Your body might expel the offending item, or it might work for several hours to make it go down.

In the begenning certains foods hurt more than others to digest. I guess your tummy is tender and heavy foods do not go down so well. I have a problem still with any cream cheese, ,, it sits in my stomach- seems like forever.

ok. first reply. its somewhere in between full and stuck. i only had 3 tbls and it takes much more than that to make me full. thats just what it feels like. like a minor stuck. 2nd reply. no foods have bothered me yet. i have tried pretty much everything except steak, and ive had Peanut Butter more than once. but it was a different brand. more natural and therefor more sticky. might be what happened. 3rd reply. it wasnt on bread. it will be a long time away if i ever eat bread again. :)

so basically i called my dr and he said the Peanut Butter was prolly partially blocking everything. he told me to drink some hot liquid to loosen everything and disolve the butter. so been doing that all night. still feel really full but i can tell its helping. thx for responding guys. hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

I am glad to hear you called your surgeon, that is what we pay them for! :)

I do hope you are feeling better now. Sometimes when I feel the inkling of stuck, if I stop eating immediately, I'll just feel pain for a while. I won't throw up and I can swallow my spit. It will eventually work its way down.

Also, after a stuck episode, there is often swelling, so take it very easy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
