Pain When Taking A Deep Breath

Recommended Posts

Help, been tested for about everything but to no avail...is my lap band too tight if it is painful to take a deep breath...not my heart, possible gall stones, no other problems came up on recent CT scan with contrast??? i'm wondering if the lap band is still too tight. My doc took out some Fluid when I could not get anything down not even Water and saliva was giving me the dry heaves...so was wondering if I should ask for more to be taken out. I can eat and drink, slow and small with no pain, but it can be more painfull as my stomach becomes full and I always have the same pain constant even on an empty stomach???? Clueless, but leaning toward the band too tight??? Thanks for any input. Linda K.

IMO yes. I had the same symptoms and I could barely keep Water down. Eventually I had blood laced vomit and I had all the Fluid taken out of my band and given time to heal. I had the option to take some or all of it out, but I wanted to give myself time to heal. I just got 2cc's put back in yesterday and I'm doing great.

I experienced the same thing and found out my gallbladder wasn't working correctly. Had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago.

You may have a slip or a hernia. If part of your stomach is migrating into your chest that would make it difficult to breath.

My son just got diagnosed with an inflamed heart sac. Its where the muscle around his heart is inflamed. The first sympton was a very sharp pain when he inhaled. Just a thought to maybe have them check for. good luck. I hope u feel better.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
