SO HAPPY to hear that you are Juicing! I am going to buy my juicer this weekend! I recently watched a great documentary called 'Fat, Sick, and nearly Dead' (I highly recommend watching) and I wanted a juicer right away!

As far as calorie intake goes: Don't Worry! The nutrition you are getting from juicing is far more important than the amount of calories you will be consuming! I believe that Juicing is one of the best things you can do for yourself with the LapBand.

I am hoping to get mine out within the next month or so, and when I do, I am doing a 'Reboot' or a juice cleanse for a couple weeks. I can't wait!

Best Wishes to all of you who are juicing!

I just watched that documentary on netflix. It was great! Also, just wanted to update guy guys with a couple of recipes i've tried since starting this post

Grape, kale, and lemon juice

take 2 large bunches of grapes

4-5 kale leaves

1/2 lemon, peeled

I usually add about 1 part Water to 2 parts juice

orange carrot ginger

1 package of organic baby carrots

4 or 5 oranges

dash of powdered ginger

apple pear

apples

pears

that's it so far. I always have to play around with the amounts, it depends on the size of the fruit and how much juice it has, how sweet you want it, etc. If anyone has any other good recipes, please share them! It's hard to find juice recipes online, for some reason.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
