Well, I went ahead and had my band fill yesterday. It was done under flouroscopy and my doctor said I had actually lost some Fluid since my last fill. When doing the fill, he and I both watched the barium go through the band. Several hours after my fill, I started having trouble with fluids. Not consistently, but twice yesterday and once so far today. Since the fill, I've only had a couple of Protein Drinks, some clear broth, some sugar free popsicles, and Water. When eatine a popsicle today, I started "foaming" and up came the melted popsicle. Am I too tight or just swollen from the fill?

It could be either, but if you cannot get liquids down, you need to go in immediately. Dehydration should not be messed with.

I am keeping most everything down. Just had trouble a few times and have to take really small sips at a time. Maybe I've been so "untight" for a while that it is making me relearn the band?

I always have a learning curve with each fill. Go very easy for the rest of the weekend and super duper easy when you start solids. Keep yourself well hydrated. Dehydration can make you feel tighter, too. I think I would stay on liquids the rest of the weekend so as to not have to call my doctor in I needed an unfill.

So, back to basics, sip, sip, sip, and chew, chew, chew! I hope you feel all better soon!

Go easy with it. Remember warm liquid will relax the muscles, and cold will contract ! That's probably why you threw up !I would leave the pop cycles in the freezer

Focus on Soups, and shakes for about 3 days (since you threw up !) Then switch to mushies for 2 days, then try food.< /p>

That sounds like a plan, and that's the way they do it where I go, and that is the rule for under Fluoroscope.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
