Hello All,

I was band 12/22/11. I physcially feel great!!! I am just starving to death and feel hungry all the time despite my daily regimen of Decaf tea, pina colada Protein Shakes, sugar free hot chocolate, and popscicles. I am frustrated because the scale has not moved in a week. I went from 243-224, and the scale said I gained 1 pound this morning. I feel so discouraged. I stopped today and had lasagna Soup from salad works. After I ate it, I feel super guilty becaue I swalled the noodles as well as the meat, and it felt great going down. I start mushies friday but I am afraid that I am going to gain my weight back that I lost so far. Has this happend to anyone before? Have you gained weight after mushies and how much should I be eating once I start mushies? FOr instane, if I eat tuna fish, how much can I have because I havent had any restriction yet. Can I have crackers with that tuna fish if I crumble them up real fine? Also for those of you on mushies, how often do you eat on a daily basis? Assistance please :)

Crystal

My doctor said to weigh the mushies out to 3 oz. No crackers they are not mushie they are solids and nothing but processed carbs. Yes I know it sucks.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
