Newly Banded and only one big problem...

Recommended Posts

I had the same problem with Constipation directly after surgery. The nurse told me to walk it down, it helped eventhough I was sore as all hell. It helped me relieve it but I still had the same problem after I got home and the only thing that helped me was walking but as sone as I felt it coming I had to rush to a bathroom somewhere near by. So that could have been a problem if you know what I mean. :omg:

Wow. I had the exact opposite problem--mine problem was liquid in, liquid out. All of my stools were...liquid. Eeew.

Same problem with me. Hubby had Constipation. (I feel like the lady on the TV that talks about her hubby's constipation).

Call your doc. I had the same thing also. One reason may be the pain pills { if you had them} after surgery, but you will be miserable if you do not do something. My surgeon gave ducolax stool softener and milk of magnesia and told me to call back if I did not get a result. Pepto will cause the opposite cause it is for when you go too much, thanks Camille

SO glad you are doing better!!

DITTO to Milk of Magnesia (and enema if necessary) if clogged... It was over a week for me, and I finally called my doctor after a very loooongg night! No one had told me beforehand what would be safe to use and I knew Fiber products were a no-no that early after surgey. My suggestion, don't wait too long before using the MOM. The anesthesia and pain meds can slow down everything!

I feel absolutely ridiculous posting this but...

I had a BM! On my own! FINALLY! :clap2:

The glycerin suppositories worked like a charm, but today my body finally decided that it wanted to take the plunge on its own!

I'll be so glad when this liquid phase is over with. 5 more days til fork mashed!!!! My kingdom for some stewed prunes!!!!

Thanks again, everyone!

Good for you!! There's nothing better than a good "BM" when you haven't had one in awhile. :D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
