Recommended Posts

Just got my second fill. I think i may be overfilled or i am hoping my tummy is just swollen. I got my fill at 11 this am. I drank a starbucks had minor indegestion. I tried ice cream it didnt sit well. i had a pb episode. tried warm Soup and got a little down but then another episode. tried drinking some juice it went down but gave me indegestion. I just ate a popsickle and it went down but again i got indegestion. I have been burping alot. oh hold on. Welp just lost the popsickle. I dont know whats going on. Is all of this normal? Am i just swollen?

I am usually O.K. for a day or two and then seem to swell up. Everyone is different. You may be overfilled. I believe not being able to keep liquids down is a red flag though.

You are showing all of the typical signs of being very over filled - acid reflux usually only happens when you are very over filled, a little tightness doesn't cause that.

Go back to your Dr and get half of your fill removed asap. And start taking Prilosec OTC to stop the acid reflux so you don't end up with pouch or esophageal issues. Until you can see your Dr. stick with pure liquids (clear Soup, Water, Protein shake, etc.) no semi solids or solids.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
