I also burp alot. I am 5 weeks banded and it is much better than it was in the first few weeks... I wasnt because i was full although it will happen if you are full..but it happens because of the excess air you swallow doing all that chewing..takeing more bites because they are smaller or drinking through straws. Also if you swallow to much at one time. Milk helps alot!! Gas-x helped some..although i dont take as much gasx as i did in the first couple of weeks. Hope this helps.

Oh, I know exactly what you are talking about. Its not the same as it was right after surgery cause of that gas they put in. This is after you are done eating or during and these burps come from the pit of your stomach. I sound like a man--not cute. I am thinking its a sign from my body telling me that its had enough. I don't really know

Thats cute Erika!! Because I relate!! I'm so much more gassy after the lap band. I use Gas-X. Ususally 2 strips at a time.

I can burp with the best of them! It is so weird. It isn't even painful gas in the stomach but just burping. I don't think mine is from being full becuase I do it if I am sipping Water or if I sip water while I exercise. It isn't always when I eat. Glad I am not alone :)

I do it constantly and I'm a year into it. I only get it from eating, not drinking. It makes me completely insane but a small price to pay to help me lose this weight!!

I would call mine belching because I could seriously shatter a window or two. I don't really care about it. I did it before surgery but now they are longer. I agree with brry, small price to the weight loss.

I'm glad I found this post! I am still on my liquid diet for a few more days, and it seems like the after surgery air is gone, but ever since I started "full liquids" (adding creamy Soups and Protein shakes) I have the longest, loudest belches after I eat or drink. I can't control them, and if I don't get them out, it hurts or I get hicccups. Embarrassing but yeah, small price to pay I guess.

I burb now, not loud or painfully, but suddenly for hours after eating. This only began two weeks ago after 4 years with the band! I was worried and got an unfil and barium swallow but it didn't change thngs. I'm somewhat relived to read the responses but its very bothersome.

Hi newbie and welcome...I think your gas is different than mine in that it sounds like it comes from your main stomach. I feel like mines right there in my throat ...worse be ause I'm afraid very afraid of a stretched asophogus.....I guess I don't trust my surgeon as I've seen her or this and she wasnt worried and gave me an infill and now I'm just more hungry with more burping.

I think yours could be coming from eating too fast possibly or do you notice it happens with certain foods? have you tried Beano an antacid you take before a meal.?.. Hope if subsides ...

I can so totally relate! I burp SO MUCH since surgery. I am 2 months post op, just had my first fill 4 days ago, and I have noticed that I have burped way more than every before. Also, my stomach growls so loud, I wonder if other people in my office hear it! Its not growling because I'm hungry, its just noisy!

The growling is normal....I guess your stomach is shrinking yey! The burping I'm not sure about...I'm waiting for my surgeon to call me back and I will share what came of that. I never had a problem with burping till 3 years out..now Ifor the past three weeks I'll burp for 4-5 hours after eating and sometimes just whe I'm stressed. I wish I knew what changed...

Ah the burping....I know I swallow air when I drink and it has to come out. Just wish it did't hurt so much. My surgeon says it'll get better, only a week post-op.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
