Hello to all,

My name is Jen and I have been a bandster for 5 years. I am accustomed to the Yahoo groups, so this forum is a bit overwhelming for me. Anyway, I just thought I would introduce myself. I am a patient of Dr Rumbaut in Monterrey, Mexico. I reached my goal several years ago, maintained awhile and then got pregnant with my miracle band baby. I have also adopted 3 children, so that rounds me out to two boys and two girls. My oldest is in Kindergarten. I am currently working parttime as a patient coordinator for Dr Rumbaut.

I am struggling a bit right now trying to get the last 20lbs of "baby weight" off... I am not sure if I can still call it baby weight since my baby just turned two last month... I am having trouble in the motivation department. It truly is harder to re-lose weight! My goal is to be back at my goal by summer...

I hope to figure out how this forum works!

Jen, Welcome to LBT. You baby looks cute in that little picture. Since you've been through this before I have all the confidence that you will do it again. Besides, I would think chasing around 4 babies would get it off of anybody...LOL And it looks like you are doing a great job with the forum, too. If you have questions, just ask...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
