has or is anyone getting their surgery done at true result in Houston TX

Recommended Posts

I am just curious for those of you who have had the surgery at True Results in Houston Texas, after you have your surgery do we have to go back many times like for the post op or any visits afterwards. I live 2 hours away so I am just wondering about how many times I will be looking to drive back and forth after my surgery.

I was banded there in July. Dr. Hollis suggest we go once a month for first year, after we are banded. That's when they do your fill and over all check up. Before I was banded I went 4 times, first consult, 2nd blood work and their tests, 3rd met the surgeon (dr. Hollis), and 4th surgery. I hope this helps!

Im having my surgery there 10/27 with dr. reilly and they told me the same thing, once a month for a full year and then about 2xs/year after that. Hope this helps and best of luck to you!

I was banded June 20 2011 by dr Reilly at true results in Houston. I went for pre-op, surgery, and now go monthly for fills. I've only seen the doctor during Pre-op and surgery but not since, only the nurse and/or PA for fills. I'm at 4.9 cc so far and hoping that my visit next week gets me closer to the green zone.

Plan on going at least every 4-6 weeks post op. And make your fill appointments in advance! They only stay late on thursdays and those spots after 3:00 fill up fast! I already have my November appointment and will make my December appointment this week when I go.

Good luck, keep me posted!!

thank you all so much for the advice. My surgery is scheduled for 10/28 and I already have the nervous jitters. I didnt know I would be going once a month after surgery for the first year but the 1 and a half hour drive will be worth it in the end I guess. Good luck in your progress hope to be in your shoes soon!

I am scheduled for surgery on Oct 21st, with Dr. Hollis. I concur with what everyone else has said... once a month for the first year.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
