Think I am too tight

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill 3 weeks ago. I am at 3 cc in a 10 cc band. I was fine the first week (definitely had restriction) but since week 2 I have been having a LOT of trouble with getting stuck. Basically every meal I do...even with taking very small bites. I can't even take a large drink of Water without it coming back up. Isn't it unusual for it to be delayed like that? I thought I could hold out until my appt next week but everything I seem to eat/drink is uncomfortable going down.

I've read that it takes a couple of weeks to really feel the full effect of the fill. Also, my band gets super tight right before my time of the month. ;) If it is that tight that you are not eating - call your doctor! Good Luck to you!!

I can eat, it is just pretty uncomfortable. I think I'll give them a call.

After not being able to get broth down comfortably today I called and am going in for an unfill tomorrow.

Relief!!! The PA took out the 1cc that she put in last month and I instantly felt better. Too tight indeed!

Very glad you were in the right mind to get an unfill.

Remember - a tiny unfill can be the difference between being too full and gaining weight (due to eating sliders) and being in your green zone.

Congrats on being back in a good place.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
