"Thanks" and I am approaching my 1 year anniversary on Oct 4. I've lost weight in the past and my most successful story was losing 100 lbs. on the Weight Watchers program but within 5 years after going off the program put it back on and then some. I can also say that this time it has been the easiest I've had to work to get this far. It gets better each day, week.......

You are on your way with 40 lbs. lost already. Awesome! Keep looking forward to even better days ahead and as you said to your husband concerning complications, "But unjust told him you deal with them as they come and it will be worth it in the long run." Don't worry about tomorrow and what it will bring. Keep your eye on the prize today and keep going forward. Keep up the great work!!! Prayers out your way for a speedy recovery. Jake

It all started with an infection on my port incision. When your body has an infection it just wants to push it out... Kinda like a splinter. And my skin on my port incision is/was super thin because it had previously opened and was just beginning to heal. So the infection and all the extra Fluid build up was trying to work it's way out of my body again and when my thin skin there broke, my body also pushed out the tube that connects my port to my band...

Normal port pain should feel like a dull pain or sore as if you worked out hard... But it shouldn't be burning or stinging. My tube was moving around inside my abdomen and was causing a significant amount of burning and stinging. But I just kinda shrugged it off thinking it was normal. If you're concerned I'd have your doctor look at your bump. Do you have any redness or burning? Is it hot to touch? These are all signs of infection. Hope it gets better. What does your bump look like?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
