This is what I felt. Reflux at night. Woke up coughing up and often choking on sour pieces of consumed food with lots stomach acid with it. And on some days the band felt loose (no restriction at all) and on other days couldn't even have a sip of warm tea. Hope it helps.

I haven't experienced a slip. I asked my doc. about it, and he said all of a sudden you wouldn't be able to keep anything down, even Water. No, doesn't sound like you have a slip. You may need a slight unfill though.

I slipped. Well my surgeon is very certain I slipped. Removed ALL fulid and did an upper GI a week later... upper GI shows no slip, but he says it could have come back into place after the unfill.

I could not eat or drink ANYTHING. Absoutely NOTHING. Even when he pulled all the Fluid out, I couldnt sip Water. He dumped fluids into me, IV and sent me home. I was to continue to try to drink. And by the next morning, I was able to drink very small amounts. By that evening Fluid was moving freely. A couple days later I went on to soft foods, etc... Anyway sorry for the rample and unsolicited information, but I believe the main thing is being unable to hold anything down, at all....

My friend's band slipped. It was due to her eating any and everything she wanted thinking the band was a magic wand. She said at first she would vomit a small amount of food immediately after eating. Then she felt pressure in her chest even when drinking liquids. Eventually she reported she could hardly breathe and had to have immediate surgery for removal of the band. So that is her story. Does not sound like you have the same issues.

Good Luck !

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
