I was banded on Nov 8th 2010 and last Wednesday My stomach starting hurting more of a dull pressure feeling. Also a pinching feeling near the port I went to the hospital and got a xray and I am awaiting results from my Dr. tomorrow. But over the weekend I haven't had a bowel movement and my pain level went up a little and my stomach is really uncomfortable. So should I wait until tomorrow or go to the ER?

Thanks

That depends on you. Are you in extreme pain, vomiting, anything that' would make you think you need to go to the E.R. ? If so go !

If not, and you can wait to see your Dr.,,, then wait.

Again,,, if you need you think to go in,,,, then go !

I would also say if you are not running a fever or in intense pain, vomiting or bleeding, I would wait. I was really stuck last month and the ER had no experience with LapBand at all. They even call in a senior er surgeon that could not help. I sat for 4 hours and still ended up paging my Doctor in the morning. :(. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm not in intense pain more a uncomfortable pain. LIke when my appendix burst a couple of months ago it kinda feels like that. I have really high pain tolerance though I almost didn't even go to the ER for that. So I guess that's what worries me. I have no bleeding, fever or vomiting and I can hold down food so I will just wait. I do not want to go to a ER and have them not know anything about LapBands. Thanks so much for the advice! :)

If you went to the Hospital where you had your band done. They will have a Bariatric Surgeon there, or on call, or,,,, call yours.

If you go to a E.R. that knows nothing about Bariatric Surgery,,, then No one would be able to really help you with the band.

If it worsens, because you have a high tolerance to pain, then you should be seen.

Good Luck, Shirley.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
