Recommended Posts

my insurance covers the nutritionist , and ultimately is the choices we make at the end of the day . also my surgeon calls me if i have a question this is how You make a decision on who you choose as a doctor , not someone you feel your imposing on thier time. This is ones health and costly i may say . We have the power lets take it!!!!!!!

lol my surgeons assistant is that type of person , however i had to put her in her place a few times . I have low tolerance for the BS , because they make you feel less than, however somehow when your in their face at let them know" IM NOT TAKING YOUR CRAPP WORKS. it happened to me with my psychologist assistant she accused me of not wantimg to pay her the fee . In the office i screamed at her and let her have it , there were mental patients their, actually one . I sat down and excused my self . I saw him eventually and excused myself expessing to him "im not a thief ",and he needed to change his worker which i had an inclination was his WIFE LOL LOL . He gave me the receipt and told me good luck . The journey has been challenging , but laughter after makes it bearable.

Thank you so much! I'm glad I found this forum :)

Are you recently banded? How did it all go for you?

I get banded Sept.7. I'm hoping it goes well. The process to this point has been easier than I anticipated. However, I start my all liquid diet Wednesday, not sure how well I will cope on that. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
