Hi guys! Its been like a year and a half since I posted. I got banded sept 09 and just did not do what I was suppose to do and as a result no weight loss. I fell off the lap band wagon hard and am trying to dust my self off and reassert myself. Last week I got a fill (which is my 3rd fill in almost 2 years) and have been disciplined. No sugar or soda for the past week and have been subing meals for Protein Shakes and walking and extremely limited carbs. I stepped on the scale and not one pound lost even with just liquids at the beginning of the week! I expected at least 2 lbs! I was wondering if this has happened to anyone and I know it takes longer than a week to lose but I just want to feel that its not just me that feel this way and I want to know what some of u did who fell off but got back up and how the weight loss went. I don't want to give up again I want to prosper and hear goo progress from people who once though like me! Please no negativity- I beat myself up enuff!

I "fell off the wagon" when all my Fluid was removed because of pregnancy and kidney issues causing massive amounts of vomiting.. Gained 80lbs while I was pregnant.

I have now lost 42 lbs since I had my baby girl. Granted some of it was as I lost "all the extra stuff" that was in me. I got my first fill Febuary, and then had a possible slip... Anyway... all in all, it IS possible! You CAN do it! Don't be discouraged so early in the game.

Oh, and I also have to wonder if maybe you have streched your pouch while you were "not doing right". If you think this might be the case, do a liquid diet for a full week or 2, this will help your body "reset"

Don't forget walking or something for exercise. That's a must.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
