I am so excited. I just put on a pair of shorts that I hadn't been able to wear in two years! I am only 8 days post op and as many of you know the time before the band on the liquid diet and the time after the band (just trying to figure things out) can be very hard emotionally and physically. I still think like a fat girl and want the fat girl foods, so it has been a bit of a struggle for me. Even my family is having to make some changes. The kids are so used to bringing the leftover food on their plates to me and each time I have to tell them that I can't have that or that I am actually too full to eat it. But it was such a good feeling this morning to put on smaller clothes that it has made everything worth it and has given me new hope that I CAN DO THIS and I will. And each time that I start to feel sorry for myself I will remember how proud I was and how good I felt when I fit into a smaller size.

Inspiration is the key to success:)

Yay for you. I know the feeling. I had to buy size 16 capris for my trip to vegas last week and I am still stunned. Way to go keep up the good work.

Fitting into smaller clothes is just the best feeling! I think it's as good as, if not better than, seeing the scale move. Congrats and keep up the good work. You are off to a great start.

I grabbed a pair of shorts that i haven't been able to wear in about a year & I'm taking them with me on the road (I'm a pet sitter that goes to people's houses) to see when I will be able to wear them again. I was semi-close before surgery since I lost 20 pounds before my surgery on aug. 2nd. Can't wait to feel great back in those shorts! I have other stuff that I've held onto to see when I'd be able to make it back into them although I doubt they are anywhere near in fashion (true religion bootcut jeans anyone?!) What have you been keeping in the back of your closet?

Good work!

I have a fabulous pair of nike windpants that I finally had shortened so I can wear properly - they were only gone for 5 days - but I put them on today and my keys were literally pulling them off my rear end! Guess it is time to retire the xl nike pants and find a pair of loose-fit large pants. You know they have been my favorite pants through 40+ pounds of weight loss/gain but I'm not sad to retire them.

We should all salute our bigger clothes for their faithful service and retire them well. BY GOING SHOPPING!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
