I had my first fill last week and I am wondering if maybe the band is a little too tight now? I now have a total of 4cc's (2 put in the band when it was placed and 2 for the first fill). The first fill itself was uneventful... I was a lot more nervous than I needed to be. It bled a lot more than I thought, but painwise, it was just a needlestick.

Now, when I eat anything solid, after a few bites, I get a pain in my chest. I do okay with yogurt, but nothing solid. If I do take more than a few bites or a larger bite, then it comes back up.

Any advise or suggestions?

Is this what is the band is supposed to be doing? I know it seems like a dumb question, but is the band working correctly and I need to stop after a few bites or does it sound like the band might be a little too tight?

Thanks!

try to eat mushies for awhile and let your stomach calm down. It took me awhile to deal with my first fill. I ended up having to have it taken out but it irriated my stomach for over a month. I find eating bland foods helped too as to not disrupt the lining in the stomach. If I eat things with gravies or sauces forget it I am sick for a day or too. Weird I know!

Strange, indeed. I've been trying to stick with regular food because my doctor told me wanted me to get back on normal foods after one day of fluids, and then one day of mushies.... I guess it takes some getting used to.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm totally looking forward to my first fill. Lately since it's empty I feel like I'm eating way too much for having the band. And have been stuck with my weight loss. Bummer!!

I hear from alot of people they are only able to take a few bites.... As far as I know, that's how it works forcing u to slow down and eat less! You will know which foods u can

Eat more from and which ones probably only a few bites. I can't wait yo be banded, I've been reading so many books on it. And gaining so much knowledge already. I feel like I'm studying for the grand final test! Hope it helps some!

OMG! I had my first real full last week. I was in pain, and couldn't eat ANYTHING for a week. I thought it was me! I did lose 13 lbs in 8 days, but, if I wanted to be bulimic I could have saved alot of money! Tonight was the first solid food I was able to eat in a week. I had it too easy for the 3 months after my surgery, I got used to eating anything I wanted, and reality hit me hard! LOL Now I see everything they told me before makes sense, no drinking anything before or after eating,no coffee, no bacon. It wont go through. This will stop me from eating too much, thats the point! ( I finally got it!)

This made me laugh.... I know exactly what you're talking about too. Now, I'm getting more used to the band being tightened and now that I actually chew my food, I'm thinking another fill might be in order next time! LOL..... just takes time, is all.

:D You guys made me laugh - thanks for that. I had my first fill this AM and feel good although I am hungry - this liquid thing just stinks. Down 41 pounds in 1 month + 2 days so I am happy so far. I guess I may be different since I had Plication with my lapband. Hope I don't have any issues when I begin to eat again but I now know what to expect - Thanks to everyone for your great posts - it really helps those of us who are a few days/weeks behind you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
