there's a couple of things that bug me about this.

Firstly, this sort of card would depend entirely upon the discretion of the restaurant, there is no way it could be legally enforced, so you might find even with a card, you're refused child's price. I agree though, my eight year old can eat more than me at a buffet.

Secondly, in a lot of places, you'll find you then have to order off the child's menu. Which is such crap food that I dont even let my children order it. They order from the adult menu and just dont eat it all.

Thirdly, going out to eat is about more than getting your money's worth out of food. I think this is a "fat" way of thinking. Going out to eat is also about spending time with friends or loved ones, and if it costs $25 versus $12, then so what? If you could afford to eat off the adult menu before, then you can now, go and enjoy a small amount of food and focus instead on socialising. Forget getting dollar value for what you eat.

Amen Jachut! I agree with you totally. Just don't finish your food. My Surgeon's office gave me that card as well. But honestly, I always forget that I have it and have yet to use it. I just buy a regular plate, eat what I can, and take the rest home. This is not so complicated you know.

The card would be great if restaurants would allow you to order a lunch portion at dinner time! Now I would do that... I really dont care for leftovers so if I was able to get a smaller portion of something I really wanted and not a kids meal I would feel more comfortable with my food selections while eating out.

So far no restaurants have honored my card, but the buffets have. Golden Corral and Hometown Buffet and honored mine and charged kids prices or senior citizens discount. I love buffets because I can pick out what I want and I'm not able to overeat, it's great!:D

I haven't tried to order differently since I got the band. I do order a high-protein meal and usually I can get that dinner plus a couple of lunches on the leftovers. Strangely, I often have trouble eating at the restaurant. I guess I eat too fast and don't chew enough. But leftovers are rarely a problem.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
