Went for an unfill today! there scale is different

Recommended Posts

I went for an unfill today because over the past week I have been getting tighter and tighter. I am feeling much better. I had some soft mushies tonight and I can already tell a difference.

They took my weight there and they said I am down 40 lbs. which I like alot. Their scale was reading the same as mine was at home (but mine was first thing in the morning and with just a tshirt on).

So I am wondering if my scale is off??? Its a digital and gives body fat also, so its kind of a nice one. I just dont know, the doctors office is always 3-5 higher than mine.

Girl don't sweat the small stuff, my scale goes from one range to the other. No scale will say the exact same reading all the time. Plus you have to take into account if you have eaten, pooped, drank tons of Water. Its a lot of things that can make a scale read a certain way. Don't sweat the scale instead use body measurements and how your clothes are fitting. Remember there will be some weeks when your body won't show the difference in weight on the scale, but it will show up in you loose clothes. I had to tell myself that because I was getting obsessed with the numbers. Then I realized that my body is different than others. I weigh 214 now and can were size 14 in pants while someone else who is 214 may be in an 18. Trust you body on this journey.

I always weigh 3 or 4 pounds more at the doctor than I did at home.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
