I am so happy for all the the responses. I thought I was the only one who had the concerns I did. It's comforting to know I'm not. I met with my nutricionist last Friday and I only have to do my pre op diet for 4 days prior. So, I am happy about that. My ninja 1100 has arrived and I've been blending as much as possible. sugar free snow cones were great in our ultra hot weekend. So hard to believe, 12 days until the surgery. I want to wish everyone the best of luck and I think we cld all be a great support to each other. I am on Facebook you can find me at bellaitaliana30@gmail.com I look forward to reading about everyone's experiences and success. Also, for more support check out YouTube. Lots of inspiring vlogs. I'm under, keepsgettinbetter. Talk to everyone soon. God Bless.

Jane.

I spoke with my mom yesterday afternoon over lunch. I explained to her that I was having the surgery and she was very taken aback. She does not believe I need it but said she will support me on my journey. I'm happy for that. The only problem I have is that my mom chooses to focus on the negative aspect of things. I don't think she knows it when does but it just natural for her. She said things like "you're not gonna like the fact that you are gonna have to drink liquids" or "You're gonna be mad when your husband and your friends all go out to eat and you can't". I am glad I told her but this confirms my thoughts.......that I will have to distance myself from her until I become stable : mentally and physically.

I also bought a Ninja today. I've been wanting one for the longest. It works really well. I didn't like my Protein shake so i'm researching Protein juices and non flavored powders to put into my food. Any thoughts or ideas?

I am also being banded on August 1. I am definitely getting nervous. This liquid diet of no food is killing me. I have no energy. My nutritionist told me to buy Optifast. They are horrible but I am getting through. It is amazing how much I think of food. That is my problem. Not being able to eat has definitely made me realize that. I am so excited to start living. 10 days left. But whose counting.

HI!!! My surgury is August 2nd!!!!

I am the same as you, excited but nervous. I think I am more nervous rather than the recovery then the actual surgery because I leave for my freshman year of college on Aug. 20th!

Hi everyone! My date is scheduled for August 19th, can you say nervous and excited at the same time!

Glad we have quite a few August bandid's :D here to go through this journey together. If anyone is on Facebook, please feel free to find and add me at sweet_coco_az @ yahoo dot com. Since I've only told immediate family and a few friends, I created a secured facebook group where me and my friends can post freely and I can give updates about my journey without it going publicly on my personal wall. Anyways, if interested in connecting with me there, look me up because I definitely need reinforced support!

Let's go August losers!!:bananajump:

Glad to see other August Banders posting on here, I am starting my second week of a 1200 cal diet for my pre op, gonna do a week of nothing but my shakes and see if I cant drop a little more. I am being banded August 1st could have had it done last week but opted to start out at the beginning of the month, as I have a wedding and reception to go the 30th of July. This past week has been a wave of emotions, but surprisingly I have yet to get nervous probably the day I go in I will be a bundle of nerves

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
