So just a quick back story. Banded 12/20. Had restriction for the first 4 months or so, decided to get my first fill in may. I was still losing but feeling hungrier. Though I did not give in and eat more. The fill was only 0.75 cc. Initially I felt good back to where I had been. That only lasted a week or two. I've been hungry again, again not giving in. I'm still losing, in fact last couple weeks have been really god. I've discovered if I mix a day or two of eating less than 1000 calories in during the week I lose a lot better.

So my question is do I get a fill? I'm not looking for the band to tell me I can't have a piece of bread (though I don't eat it often). I want opinions if I should get it just to control the hunger. Though usually drinking a bunch of Water calms it down. And like I said even though it is there I stay within my calories.

It's not going to change the level of how hungry you feel, but it should make it so once you eat a small meal, you're not hungry again for 4-5 hours. If I was in your position, I'd get another small fill.

Sounds like a fill may be in order. I would deffinately go in and talk with your surgeon. Congrats on doing so well!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
