142 pd loss for a bandster

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the post. I agree with Cndy, Now that I have lost about 43lbs it is easier for me to exercise. I will say this I am at 2.8cc's in my 4cc band and I am at my sweet spot! I feel the same restriction I felt when first banded. Restriction is also helpful in losing I didn't see where she told you that. It is VERY important.

Great 43 pound loss!! Whoohooo! What the lady did say is that she had a great fill at just under 2 cc for her. She says she never gets hungry & eats only a 1/2 cup of solids at a time. So I believe that would be because of here restricition. Not willpower. I still don't quit have my sweet spot but I think I may be there now if I could just get a hold of this head hunry I still have. Sometimes I still pb & than sometimes I eat like crazy & others I think I am at a perfect fill. I think I need my head to get more into the game & stay at the fill I am at.

Ya gotta admit she's the poster child for the band... almost exactly 2 pounds a week. :) I wish everyone's trip could be that smooth!

But it does give me hope that we CAN do it!

And the best thing: When I hear all of you saying that you have control over when you stop, that you can stop before the food is gone (including every edible scrap in the fridge), I get a lot of hope.

I would love to lose 2 pounds a week until I'm at goal, but to be honest, I'd be happy just not gaining anymore!

I did like her tips & am trying to add some of them into my lifestyle now. Hopefully they'll help my banding be a success too! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
