Vitamins! What are you taking?

Recommended Posts

I take two adult Gummy Vitamins, a chewable Calcium. I also take a 5 hour power every day before my workout. I am also taking powdered glutamine (amino acid because of reducing calories) and 2 packs of Omega 3 with Vitamin D. I was one that was Vitamin D deficient. I have been for the past few years. The Omega 3 has really improved my mood and motivation. I used to take it all the time before surgery but quit after surgery because I couldn't take the big pills. I suffered too. I could tell my mood was more negative and my weight loss really stalled. I started taking it again, but only one pack and it helped my mood some. Then one day I decided to try two little packs and I have felt incredible for the past 3 weeks and I have been averaging about 3 lbs a week on the weight loss.

Hi that is good,i heard Omega 3 is also good for stopping hair removal, ive read alot of ppl that have lapband lose some of there hair so another lapbander recomended omega 3s has it helped in that dept?

In the beginning and throughout my "losing hair phase" I took prenatal Vitamins. I don't take any now. I think I eat well enough to no longer need to supplement.

I have trouble with Vitamins because most of the multi-vitamins make me nauseous. GNC has a berry-flavored chewable that isn't too bad. I used to take it at night so it didn't make me too nauseous. Viactiv now has a chewable Multi-Vitamin that actually tastes decent and doesn't make me nauseous at all! Plus, it's chocolate flavored so it gives me my morning chocolate fix. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
