i was banded on June 9th and by stomach just started to go down and not be so firm. Just give it time you are not quite a week post op.

Give it some time... That all depends on you, and what your surgeon did. A lot of Gas in the Abdomen can take some time, but it will go down.

Are you walking to help move that Gas that they put in you? You should be, otherwise it can get firm. This way you move it throughout your system.

Same thing is happening to me. I'd love to read more responses! (Also, NanaCat, I was banded the same day! Hi bandster twin :) )

I felt like I had a basketball in my stomach for at least a week after surgery. It went down slowly after that but it was uncomfortable although I didn't have gas pain.

I am 3 weeks post op and was swollen for 2 1/2 weeks. I had lost about 10 pounds but all my clothes were tighter than before surgery. I feel back to normal now.

So glad to know that this seems to be normal! I'm struggling to know the difference between "gas" and when I'm full. I was just given the go for "soft" food. I was banded on 6/17.

Well I'm 9 days post op - the pain is gone, but tummy still swollen - tight clothes are uncomfortable - but i have a few pairs of pants i can wear - i asked at work if i could wear my jammies :) one suggested we all wear jammies to show support - but ... I've lost 20 lbs total (inc 2 weeks of Optifast prior) and i'm on liquids until i go back to Dr on Monday - they told me 10 days but that would be Sat - i may eat a scrambled egg on Sun - i just started feeling hungry today - i'm eager to try out my new stomach :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
