Tentative diagnosis

Recommended Posts

Vines, I hope that is not what it is but I really want you to have a diagnosis. My doctor thought I had this and sent me to the Endocrinologist. That doc yelled at me and told me that Cushings is a very hard disease to live with and the people that have it are in constant pain. I told him I was just coming on what my doc told me and I had to pee in a jug for a week. He told me I didn't have it and that I needed to lay off the bread and Pasta or I would have diabetes by the time I was 30. He scared the crap out of me and was a horrible guy. I hope your time is much easier than mine was and I hope it is not this!!! Good luck, and know that you are in my thoughts.!!

Crystal~

At least knowing what is is/might be is the first step towards getting it treated. Hopefully you'll get some firm answers and a plan of treatment soon. And now you know that you haven't been doing the weight loss thing wrong...it's not been in your control due to whatever this is. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers...keep us updated...we care about you!

I went and had more blood work today. Now I have to wait until Tuesday for more answers. I was able to move the appointment up a week, so I'm happy about that

Just saw this Crystal -- glad that you have a good lead on what is wrong with you now. I'll be checking in later this week to see how the results of your bloodwork came out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
