So I am 6 days post op and I have been having the most pain when sitting at a 90 degree angle. Today I bent over as a reflex too fast and hard and it hurt soooo bad at the port site. Now I have a dull pain that won't go away. Is it possible to flip it by bending over? I'm nervous that I messed up already?

i understand your concern, but unfortunalty no one here is gonna be able to answer that question. Call your surgeon, i'm sure they're used to getting calls all the time. Better safe than sorry later. keep us posted

It is possible! if the pain is localised and is painful on pressing gently.. Then it maybe the case.. Apparently they only use staples to secure it.. this happened to me ans I had to go and havew it resited..

It could be just wind/Gas but if it hurts on pressing I would say there is something not right ! My Surgeon could not get the Fill in that was another indication...

Good luck hope its just the healing process and you have low pain threshold as it is only 6 days Post Op early days yet!

Good news! I spoke with the nurse today and she said that they have had maybe three flips in the time theyve been doing it. They actually sew the ports into the stomach muscles really really well. She said the pain I am feeling is normal.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
