I haven't experienced worse cramps since surgery but I have experienced my band tightening up quit a bit during that time of the month. It took a few months for me to catch on to what it was but It becomes so tight that I can barely eat and end up throwing up for a 2-3 day period. I asked my doctor about it and she said that she has had many patients complain about the same issue during that time of the month. Have you experienced the tightening or just cramps? She recommended taking liquid ibuprofen for inflammation. In your case you could do liquid Tylenol for the cramping. Just a suggestion to relieve the pain!

Been there for sure. The only thing I can tell you is that it will take time,,, but month after month as you heal it will start to get better.

I have been in menopause for 2 years and I have gotten my period twice with cramps since I had my lapband surgery. I always got cramps when I was regular. This time when I got it I was very tight and threw up everything I ate. Does anyone have any ideas why I am getting my period all of a sudden. It has been 6 months since the last time. I had my surgery 8 months ago. It is so annoying. O

I have the same issue! I have horrible cramps throughout my periods now, whereas before I might have had light cramping the first day! and I absolutely hate it!!! I dont have the nauseua or tight feeling, I am actually more hungry during my period so I have to make sure I pay attention to what I am eating!

Your hormones will be out of whack for a while if you lose weight quickly. That could affect your cramps. My doctor said my body was used to regulating hormones for me at 250 pounds, not 185 so it will take a while to adjust.

IS it possible that u had polycystic ovarian syndrom? If so the weight loss often cause u to actually ovulate more often. ovulation cramping can b the worst!

When you go threw Menopause, the first couple of years, it is very common to have a couple of periods. Your body is just telling you that this is really coming to a end.

I experienced that for sure-- and since I wasn't allowed Ibuprofen, I took Lortab the first few months and that was even worse (it gives me a headache). However, they've actually gotten much better in the last couple months and a normal dose of tylenol takes care of them.

It gets better in my experience, but it sucks while it's happening.

This what is happening with me. My periods have become regular for the first time in my life and this past month, the cramps were horrible. I used to take prescription strength Motrin but this month I made due with Tylenol...it didn't make them go away completely but helped dull them to a tolerable level.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
