Port Location

Recommended Posts

Where is everyones ports located? Mine is in the middle of my tummy right under the center of my bra. I thought it would be by my belly button.

Anxious to go for my first fill and find out why he locates them there. It also is my largest incision so I wonder if that is where the band went in too!!!

I should have asked when I had the staples out, but I was so glad to get them out I just asked where the port was but not why?

Mine is in the upper left quadrent of my stomach, about 3" above my belly button. I can feel the port under my skin. Yucky. My understanding is that the largest incision is where they put in the band and near where they place the port. Mine's still red and tender, almost two weeks after surgery.

Mine's on my right side, about halfway between my belly button and bra line... maybe a bit higher.

Mine is about halfway between my belly button and bra, and slightly off to my left side. Slightly.

Mine is directly to the left of my belly button...slightly upper left....I wonder if it is because I had the SILS/ Single Incision.

Mine is about midway between my belly button and my breast on the left side of my abdomin. Must be the surgeons preference I would guess? Never asked why only where it would be :)

Mine is on the right side and was sore for the first two weeks. It is definitely the largest incision, the rest are TINY!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
