I really would have snapped on him, Im the type that if I don't feel right then thats my final answer. Good for you for switching doctors. For a doctor to compare you to another person is just really ridiculous. We already do that to ourselves, the doc should be there to listen and assess. Geez, seriously, I don't play that. ESPECIALLY if I am giving you the business where you are getting paid to take GOOD care of me! I am glad that you found someone and somewhere where they will treat you with respect and listen to you.

Yep, don't stick with a doctor who is not treating you correctly and who doesn't listen. I switched to a doctor in the next town as the one here, although he is nice, you always feel like you are slowing them down from getting to the next patient. They have a schedule and if your body doesn't follow it, it's your fault. They filled me, set off my reflux and then were upset with me for wanting some Fluid removed. Yea, dont' need that kind of stress. New office is MUCH friendlier and ready to listen and give answers. They also have this idea that they need to treat everyone individually.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
