front of thighs

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody. I am getting outdoors here in Toronto Canada as the weather is improving. I went for a walk today though quite moderate. I am still on my pain meds from my recent jaw surgery but improving slightly. the front of my thighs are quite jiggly and yes cellulite - ish, Qny recommendations to reduce this troublesome spot?, hamstrings pretty nice as are calves, but top front of thighs -ughhh. Any suggestion would be helpful and most appreciated. I do like walking and if it is suggested some running. intervals? I have been out of the exercise game for a while aside for a few months of zumba over the winter.

I've started barre exercises (Lotte Berk) and its amazing for thighs! Lotte Berk does not recommend running and all her exercises are low impact. My thighs start burning as soon as we start laugh.gif

Google Lotte Berk or Barre exercises online. They can be done using a chair instead of the ballet barre and done in the privacy of your own home if you wish. I've only been going for a few weeks but already think my thighs have shrunk!

Good luck!

hey there! You can't "spot reduce" and cellulite is within the skin ..not the muscle. Your thigh is actually made up of quite a few muscles: the quadriceps are on the front and your hamstrings are on the back and they have little parts within them. It's not good to over work one muscle, it could potentially strain the other.

Some great lower body exercises that will work your thighs and booty are:

squats

lunges

using resistance bands step on one end with one foot, and secure the other end to your other foot. From there you can bring your leg straight forward, to the side, and straight back and it will work ALL of your leg muscles

With squats and lunges BE VERY CONSCIOUS ABOUT YOUR KNEES. Do NOT let your knees go past your toes as it will easily cause knee injuries. A combination of resistance training and cardio vascular training should help!

thanks for the 411. I had completely forgotten about torturous squats and lunges - i'll see if i can force myself to do them, perhaps i'll start at a very low repetition and slowly work myself up. thanks for your reply!:D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
