Curious as to cost

Recommended Posts

I still have a ways to go, but I wad curious as to cost of the surgery. I have always promised myself when I lose weight I will fix my boobs. They lie flat against my chest. So I definitely need a lift, not sure if they can fix them without putting in implants or not. Also I am working out a lot but I have a feeling the skin on my lower abdomen is still going to hang. Those are the 2 things that I probably will get done. So how much wlll that cost about? Ive read you can sometimes get the lower abdomen covered by insurance if you have rashes or something. But let's say I have to pay out of pocket, what would it cost?

It depends on where you are/ where you get the surgery. I live in Korea so far from others but a Tummy Tuck is 5,000 US here and a lift ( no implants) is 3or 4,000 US ( I cant remember).

Places in North America are usually more so sometimes people go to Mexico where it is cheaper ( Less than 10,000 US).

The best advice I can give is wait ATLEAST a year before doing anything. I only waited 6 months before my tuck and kind of regret it because I see how much my body has changed since then and now I am not considering as many surgeries as I was before ( my boobs were terrible and now not so bad they have changed so much!)

Hi:

Location, location, location. It really makes a big difference. My Tummy Tuck was $21k, but luckily insurance covered 2/3 of the cost because of a medically necessary panniculectomy being covered. I paid the difference to upgrade to a tummy tuck. Very happy with the results.

I'm in the Boston area where medical costs are very high.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

Hey Sue,

I'm in Boston too. Wondering where you went? I am far from a time of new surgery but just wondering, because I often think of the the boobs and the pouch below the belly and wondering what these will look like in the months to come...

If you go to my profile page and look at my pics you'll see what I looked like after losing 150 pounds. I'm about 10 pounds heavier than I was then, but you'll get the basic idea on how a lower belly looks after losing alot of weight.

Good luck to you.

Sue

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
