I was banded on February 11th and I was just wondering how many meals others have per day and how much at each meal. I am currently having 3 meals (4-6 oz. each - volume measurement) and 2 Snacks (2-3 ounces each - volume measurement). I have to admit, I am still finding myself very hungry at times after I eat and I have to use extreme will power. Do these portions seem typical? Just wondering if I am having too much or too little. Maybe its just time for my second fill :) Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated!

I am in no way placing myself in a position to give medical advice, but I can only realy to you what my MD has stated that I can eat. I am also on a 5 "meal" regimine. I am only allowed to eat between 3-4 ounces during those meals. My MD prefers that I eat foods and try and get my all of my Protein which in in between 80-100 gms of Protein per day. My MD did not give me any fill until my band had been in place for 6 weeks to allow the stomach time to heal. I am currently at 6cc in my band following 2 fills. I also drink between 60-80 oz of H20 a day plus I drink sugar-free tea at about 30-40 oz/day. I eat fruit instead of drinking fruit juices. For me my biggest obstacle was seperating head hunger from actual hunger. I am hoping that this has been helpful in some way.

I usually have 2 Meals ( I have a hard time with Breakfast so its always a Protein shake)

But then 2 snacks... focusing on the proteins! cheese sticks, yougarts, peanuts, ect! I try to eat every 3-4 so I stay on top of the hunger and don't over eat!

Even during "bandster hell" my doctor prefers you to do 3 meals a day and grit it out the rest of the time. He would say to drink some crystal light to control the "head hunger". A huge issue for bandsters is head hunger. Clearly there are times you are physically hungry. Other times 4 o'clock in the afternoon you're at work and bored. You're brain says "Let's have a snack!"

When I went in for my 4 week check up I told the nurse what I was eating which included a 60 cal. pudding cup. She asked if I was really hungry or if it was becoming a habit. When I thought about it she was right it was habit not hunger that led me to eat it daily. My nut did approve a low fat cheese stick or low cal/fat Protein Shake prework out since I have about a 7 hour span between lunch and dinner (due to going to the gym).

I eat 5-6 times a day. As an above poster, I eat cheese stick and nuts (1/4 c) for Snacks. From what you wrote, you are doing just great. Keep up the good work!

I eat 3 meals - well actually 2 meals with a Protein Shake for breakfast. I rarely snack. I had the same advice as previous poster - stick to the 3 meals, really think about snacks...am I hungry or is it in my head???

My NUT doesn't mind if I snack as long as the Snacks are high Protein. On a normal day, I eat 3 meals a day (3-4 oz protein, 1/2 cup veggies) plus 1 snack (usually string cheese, babybel cheese, turkey rollup with laughing cow or greek yogurt). I do track my daily calories because I don't lose if I'm under 1,000 calories per day and if I don't track it I do have a tendency to be in the 800-900 calorie range. There are some days when I make myself have a high protein evening snack to make sure that my calories are where they need to be...I don't like making myself eat if I'm not hungry but I just don't lose anything if I'm under 1,000 so I don't really have a choice...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
