I just got my lap band on 3/22 and I am in the pureed stage. I feel like I am constantly looking for something to eat! Is there something wrong? I have not gotten a fill but why am I eating so much. (1 cup of food for a meal and then grazing.. )

This will be a will power diet until you get restriction took me 6 months. Measure your food and when it's gone stop eating. No grazing. If you doctor allows healthy planned Snacks, choose, plan and eat them in a mindful manner. I'm not trying to be a downer. I know it's hard to stop eating when you are still hungry;.

A lot of it is emotional hunger, Kristin. It's what you're used to. My doctor recommends 2 high-protein Snacks to keep hunger away, and that really helps me out. Try to stay busy away from food. The first few weeks are the hardest, but you will get through it.

Hi, I had lapband surgergy on March 8th. I bought a weight loss journal and am I ever glad I did! I live by that journal. I keep track of calorie, amount, and Protein count. I add it all up mid day. Earlier in the journal, I set my intake goals and try very hard not to go over that. I need 60 grams of protein and Water intake and try to do this within a 700 calorie intake. It helps me to control my grazing, which I have always been good at! I also found a site on line for foods for lapband clients. they have wonderful products that are low in calories and high in protein. The food is very tasty. They even have good Snacks. good luck. Hi Novena, can you share that website? ;)

I was just banded on the 24th, so about a week out and my hunger is definitely back as well. I've been good with keeping to 3 meals a day but I can see myself becoming a grazer if I don't get some more substance.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
