Doc's Office Sent in for Approval

Recommended Posts

I just called my Doctors office. They sent in my information to my Insurance company on Monday March 21st. They said it can take 2-3 weeks to hear back from them. Oh the waiting process is almost over. I can see light at the end of this tunnel and can almost start smelling the flowers of the new person I will become! Now I was hoping to be an April Bandster, Which it still could happen, but I'm keeping my mind set now for May, so I won't become disappointed in waiting. This extra time will help me also to prepare for the new habits I have been making already and the new ones I still have to set. Thanks everyone for your support. I have been reading this site and commenting a little since last October, when I started this process.

I'm going through the same thing at the momet. Just playing the waiting game! My doctor's office sent in for my approval on March 14th. I was hoping to be an April bandster too but I sitll haven't heard anything! It's so hard waiting, but I agree with you this is a good time to start practicing all the eatnig habits. Hopefully we'll both hear something soon :)

My Dr. office sent in my info. to ins. on March 17th and got my approval back March 22nd. WooHoo. I wanted to be banded in April too but it looks like it will be in May. O well, I've waited this long, it wont hurt me to wait a little longer. Good luck with your journey!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
