Hi I'm Shirley 56 yrs. young. Hope the age difference doesn't bother you.

I been banded almost 5 yrs. this year. Do to a Dr.'s paperwork screw up I had to find a new surgeon, well, to cut it short someone did take me on and fill me, and there was nothing wrong all along... So I am starting from square 1 all over again. So been there done it ya know ! I''m around. So message me if you want, or will just talk if I see your posts. That's up to you.

But be in touch if you want.

Shirley.

Shirley, I couldn't help but write when I saw that you were starting all over. That is my biggest fear! I am to goal from being banded on 12/20/08 and down 90 pds. I am off all meds and have been maintaining for the last 1 1/2yrs. I usually put on 2-3 pds in winter from not walking much but it has come off now that the weather is sushine beautiful and again I am where I wanted to be. I went from a size 24-26 to size 10 and never in a million years thought that this would happen. My weight was slow going for the year since getting banded and I had a few plateaus that I never thought would end, but it did and here I am. I too am 58 yrs old young and feel like 28, off all meds and move like a teenager again. My insurance company at work dropped my surgeon in Las Vegas and have not been able to find another Dr in case something goes wrong. I am going to start searching again shortly once the weather is nice. Good luck on journey to get the weight off again, and I know you can do it. You don't say how long it took to gain it back and why?

Thanks for the support ! I will take it of again, and I no it ! I had a great surgeon, but that's all he was, Move em in, and move em out.. He even told me I'm a surgeon, that's how I make my money... So for follow up care,,,,,,, he wasn't worth a damn. He overfilled me, and never gave me Water to check it. So I found out when I got home. It was a hot day in July, and I wanted a sip, It came right back up, so I tried again, same thing. I called and they said you have to come back! (NO KIDDING) So I went back, and he stuck ethe needle in the port, and the plunger shot clean up to the top.(4cc band) I heard him say WOWWWWW! I asked what's wrong? He said when that happens it usually means the Band is blown. So he emptied me, and wouldn't see me again, The last time his PA threw me out because of weight gain... I was laid off, and that was the last of my Ins. I wanted to get it fixed, and she said "DON'T YOU GET IT,,, HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE YOU, COME BACK WHEN YOU LOST WEIGHT, AND WE'LL SEE ABOUT A FILL !) I said yeagh ! I get it now, and was escorted out.

So I had my paperwork sent to another Dr., and they said we don't no about you, you eat cake, Cookies, pies... I said WHAT ! you're talking to a lady that lost over 120lbs., how'd that happen then?. They couldn't figure why he had no notes on my weight loss..................................

So this Thursday will be 3 weeks since my fill, there was nothing wrong with the band ! ! ! I have lost 19lbs., I have very good restriction, and I meet with the surgeon April 13,

A surgical PA did a better job then a Bariatric Surgeon.. At a Center of Excellence, and Chief Surgeon.

So I have summer cloths that are nice, some still have the tags on them. Maybe not this year, but for sure next year..

I wrote a post titled I WANT THIS PIECE OF JUNK OUT Looking for a Dr. Near Saint Helen, Michigan. Check that out, and read the whole thing if you want.

Should be from page 2-10. Somewhere in there.

Good Health to you !

Thanks for writing, Shirley.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
