What in the world? Got my first fill early Feb, felt restricted for a a couple weeks, then it was gone, POOF! Felt like I could eat anything and everything. Now, since yesterday I am suddenly restricted again. How weird is that?

I feel like this band is like my back door, it swells up and gets stuck in humid weather, but contracts when it's cold.!!! LOL

Weather, stress, time of day, if your period is coming, and hormones all play a role in your band's tightness. I say enjoy it lol :D

I had the same issues the past month, one week i was very restricted in my eating, then one day I could eat a house, next day back to restriction... its like a yoyo.............Dr. tells me exactly what reverie said.. weather, time of day, stress is a huge factor also... Dr. said its normal and not to worry.. so when he doesnt worry, I dont worry :)

I hear ya - the yo yo restriction makes it tough to know when to get a fill, etc! Every time I think "well maybe I need another one..." then I have a few days where I am tighter and not able to eat much! Also I notice at that "time of the month" I am much tighter.

Last summer I noticed on the way hot days when the humidity was high I was not able to eat much and was not hungry at all.....it is wierd how weather affects it!

It's a crazy journey we are on! B) Hang on and be ready for the ride!

Well I'm glad it's back!

I'm feeling it right now too-- I think it's because I flew this weekend. I'm not gonna complain though, that's for sure! Not when a snack pack of peanuts was enough to fill me up for lunch yesterday :)

This is why the band is sometimes called a "fickle b*tch". :)

When it will let you.. eat your measured portions. When it won't.. don't.

I gauge needing a fill when for more than a week, my measured portions aren't keeping me full for 3 to 5 hours. AND when I have no issues eating dense Protein. AND when weight loss has stalled or slowed quite a bit. At least 2 of these have to be occurring for me to want a fill.

Right now.. I can get hungry sooner than 5 hours, but yesterday eating an apple was a teeny bit uncomfy..so I turned down a fill because of that.

YMMV

As to the current "restriction" (really don't like that word).. ride it till the wheels fall off!! (quote from Jessie Ahroni)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
