So... IF you have a sweet spot

Recommended Posts

where is it?

I have a 10cc band with a 1.5cc fill right now... My doctor fills SOOO slowly! LOL I wanna get to a good place in my first year (I have until August) because it will be $250 per fill after that point.

Just curious where seems "comfy" for most of you!

Everyone is different in what they find to be their sweet spot. I am somewhere around 6-6.5cc in a 10cc band. Others may be great at 5 or 8. There is no formula for what makes a sweet spot sweet. It depends on your anatomy.

Ever person is different. I have a 11 cc band and did not get any restriction until 9.6 cc's. Maybe at my sweet spot at 10.6. My fills went something like this 4,2,1,1,1.6,.4,.6. Some people do get restriciton at 5-6. There are however several of us on this board who did not get restriction until the band was almost filled. I'm not telling you this to be discouraging. I just want you to know so that you don't feel like the process is'nt working if it takes a long time for restriction.

Way too many variables to be able to accurately respond to this question. By August it is likely you will come to know what ~your own~sweet spot is. cheers on your journey

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
