I would like to purchase either the MBT or Sketcher Shape-up Shoes as a reward for myself. I am looking for honest feedback on these shoes before I spend the money on what others think of them. Please share your experience! Thanks.

I have the Sketchers Shape Ups. I got them with the hope that every little bit helps, LOL. Well I wore them all day yesterday walking downtown, and walking the convention center for a car show, and my legs and hips definatly feel tired today, and it was not from the walking alone, because I walk that amount or more frequently. Now are they a fitness regimen, not really, I still go to the gym, but they were cute and the hubs got them for me for christmas (I have the white and pink breast cancer ones). So after all of that, would I buy them again, yes. Do I count them as a workout, no.

Good luck.

Crystal

I would google them and see what doctor's are saying about them. Most of what I've heard is that they really don't do anything and are not good for people who have balance issues.

There has been a lot written about those type of shoes lately. There is no valid research that substantiates the claims made by either shoe maker . But, if the shoes get you too walk more then they are worth the money.

I own two shoe stores. Either of these shoes are good. MBT has been making these shoes for a long time. Skechers knocked off MBT. With that being said the skechers, has been selling better because of the price. You should be able to find the shape ups for under $100 now where you will be paying $200 - $300 for the MBTs. Neither one of them is going to help with the weight loss. They are both great for Knee or back pain. Since they do have the rocker bottom, it makes you stand up straight and balance yourself. Both a really good.

Yes and people with balance problems shouldn't wear a shoe that's main purpose is to keep you off balance.

I used to have a pair of MBTs. They helped a lot with foot pain, but I couldn't tell a difference with them in any other way. I'm not sure how much the Sketchers are, but my MBTs cost over $250.

I have the sketcher shape-ups and I do like them alot. I walk about 2.5 miles during lunch and before I got them, I would have this pain in my lower back. Now, I feel I have better posture walking and no more back pain. Also, my calves look HAWT!!

What I did was go into the shoe store and tried them on, but went walking around the store for several minutes to see if they weren't going to hurt. People were looking at me like I was crazy, but it really helped with my decision to buy them.

Best of luck to ya!

Julia

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
