Anyone getting banded on 3/8/11

Recommended Posts

I will be banded on March 8th also. I feel pretty good. Yesterday i saw the Anesthesiologist and got my medical clearance. I started on my pre-op diet on 2\22 Optifast but i had to take another supplement with less carbs, Each carton contains 20gms of carbs and i will have to drink 5 for the day = 100gms of carbs. I have pcos and will nevwr lose weight on 100gms of carbs daily. I had to make my own adjusments. 40gms of carbs if i am ever going to lose any weight pre op. I am down 9 lbs so far. Its very hard , im struggling. Best wishes to all and all the best on the 8th.

I will be banded on March 9th looking forward to the day after when its all done and over with so I can sop worrying so much :/

Looking for anyone who is getting banded the same day as me. There's something oddly comforting knowing that others will be having the procedure on the same day.

Glad to see so many people will having the procedure on the 8th, or very close to it at least. I'll be thinking of all of you. It is comforting knowing that I'm not alone. This forum has been great. I have a great support team in my life, but really everyone here on this forum are truly the only ones that can understand what we're going through. Thanks everyone for "being there"!!

I, too, am being banded on March 8!! biggrin.gif

This is my first post, so I guess I will introduce myself. My name is Rachel, I am 21 years old and I am being banded in Harrisonburg, VA. I haven't met anyone else who is getting it done there on here, but that's ok! We can still be each other's support from different places!

I started my liquid diet on Tuesday and so far it hasn't been so bad. There are days when I definitely miss chewing (the Multi-Vitamin just doesn't really cut it :P) and just wish I could have some food, but I know this is for the best and I can't wait for my surgery!!

I'm not really sure what else to say, if you all have any questions or anything, just let me know, I guess. I would love to get to know some of you and hear about your journeys. I love that we are all in this together!

Have a wonderful weekend. smile.gif

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
