"Sweet Spot" When will I find it?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was banded on 10/20/2010. Have had 3 fills in a 10cc band (3 c, 3cc and 2cc's) not much got stuck after the first two, but after the third, I am noticing more food it giving me a hard time. I am still hungry. Although I eat less than before, I want to hit the "sweet spot" that everybody talks about. I am really getting anxious about not being hungry. When does that kick in?

What's hunger to you? Is your stomach growling or is it head hunger? Are you eating high Protein meals? (Aim for at least 20 each meal.)

Maybe I'm wrong, but hunger never goes away, I think it's a misconception with the band. The band wasn't placed to make you not hungry, it's to increase how long you feel 'satisfied' as well as for Portion Control.< /span>

In the end, hunger is normal, and it should happen. Do I get hungry? Sometimes, but rarely. Why? Because I eat every 3 hours, before hunger kicks in. It's like taking pain meds after a surgery before the pain comes. You anticipate that you'll be hungry, so you eat.

Again, maybe I'm wrong and maybe that's all just how I feel, but in the end if you're seeking the "not" hungry feeling, I don't know if a fill provides you with that.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you. I have 9.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I know I'm not at my sweetspot yet because I get hungry 1.5-2 hrs after eating. I eat Protein rich foods and follow the guidelines. I had a fill 12 days ago and I do at times, have some minor issues (need to chew more etc), but I am generally not satisfied after eating. I feel like a whiner posting this again, because I've already complained about how I feel (sorry guys :( ) in an earlier post. I'm just amazed with this much fill that I'm not there yet.....

How much Protein are you eating per meal? How BIG is your meal?

I'm getting an average of 20 grams protien per meal and choose higher Protein Snacks (turkey pepperoni, cheese strings, cottage cheese, natural almonds etc). I track all calories consumed as well as protein etc. Track all exercise, wear a heartrate monitor when exercising to see carlories burned as well.

How many calories a day are you eating? Carbs? Total protein? Do you eat Snacks? PM me if you want; I'd love to try to help.

Oh and the size of my meal, well volume wise anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 cups. 4-5 ozs meat/fish etc. I could eat more, but have no desire to gain back what I've lost so I'm stuck doing a strict diet.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
