Can you eat salad?

Recommended Posts

I have been craving my favorite restaurants' salad for weeks. I want to have one before I get my first fill, which may or may not be March 14th.

Do you have any problems eating salad? Should I have them chop the lettuce?

I can eat salad, just chew it well. My doc says most people can eat more salad than other foods so beware overeating.

Yup... salad is sort of a slider for me. Wish I could find a good low calorie recipe for Salad Dressing. I have tried several... none of them turn my crank!

I have no problem with salad but like others mentioned I can eat more of it then other foods so need to watch the "extras".... however my new favorite thing is lettuce, thick salsa with 1/8 cup fat free cheddar. Almost tastes like a taco salad but has so few calories.. Yummmmm!

I have gotten sick 2 times... The first time I ate raw veggies (lettuce and tomato) and the second time was falafel (chickpeas)... So I am scared of any salad... I used to love them but I run away now! I envy you people who can handle this stuff

I have no problem so far with salad.....wrapping some lunch meat with romaine lettuce is not a bad idea! Need to try that.

I LOVE salads! I try to eat at least once a day. I eat them with 4 oz chicken, some carrots, bacon bits, flax seed etc. So good. I usually save them for dinner after I work out when I want something light but Protein packed.

Yeppa ! Just make sure you chew it well, and if it doesn't feel like it wants to go down ! Dont fofce it, just put it out in your napkin. This is different for everyone, so you will find out.

I can only eat salads now if it's made from boston. Anything else is too fibrous. My favorite, romaine, is a thing of the past.

I live on salad - if its just a vegetable salad with a lean Protein and a no fat/low calorie dressing, then I cant see how in the world you could "overeat" it. There's simply not enough calories to do any damage.

I love just a mix of vegies - lettuce, capsicum, snow peas, red onion, cherry tomatoes, a little bit of avocado - with a tin of tuna, salt and pepper and a spray of a good olive oil.

Restaurant salads - caesar salads, roast vegie salads, chefs salads you need to be a bit more careful of - those are more like all other foods and not "free" foods like raw vegies are. Eat them, enjoy them but know what you're eating and how much of your day's calories it represents.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
