Frustrated!!

Recommended Posts

I am a bit frustrated.......I was banded 07/07....starting weight was 205 got down to 142. I changed Dr.'s and they unfilled me. I have a 10cc band and I was at 7.2 cc. I was at 7.2 my entire pregnancy and had no issues. My son was 8lbs 8oz and I gained only 1 lb. Back in late Dec. 2010. I had an unfill to about 6.2 cc and I gained 6 lbs. I went back in a few days ago and she put back in point .2 cc's . I am so hungry all I can think about is FOOD! i WANT TO EAT EVERYTHING IN SIGHT! . My Dr. said to give this new fill a few weeks to adjust. has anyone ever had this problem?? I am so worried that I will gain more weight

Thanks ,

~Shannon!

Shannon I feel your pain!

I was overfilled over Thanksgiving, and had to have 1/2 a cc removed. I gained 7 pounds over Christmas! I was terrified! So I started walking just like 20-30 minutes a day, and counting calories on everything I ate, as well as making sure I had at least one salad in place of a meal per day. It wasnt fun at first, but I really did feel better, and I gave myself a break on weekends. It took two weeks, but I lost all the x-mas weight.

give it a try! You can do it!

Yes, my doctors office says it can take two weeks for a fill to settle. At 8.4 I had some restriction but it seemed to reduce over time. Four weeks later I went in and got another .6 and think I may be in restriction but so far it's only been 5 days. The office says that restriction can hit up to two weeks after the injection. They make you wait at least 3 weeks between fills.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
