Hi. Here is my story. I researched the lab band procedure for 2 years before I actually had it done. My surgery took place on 4/1/10 and started out at 227 lbs. I've had 2 fills only-.5 cc in band when placed, 1st fill of 2 cc and then .5 cc last fill. I've lost 63 lbs. so far and almost to my first goal-160 lbs. I went from a size 18-20 to a size 12. I can't believe I'm actually in a size 12. I know you shouldn't be stuck on size but I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! I know this isn't for everybody but I am very glad that I had it done and would definitely do it againt. I had no pain and no problems. The incisions healed great and the scars look great. I'm even thinking of lowering my goal and trying to get in a bikini. Ha, ha we'll have to see. Thanks for letting me go on.

Congrats to both of you! I was banded on 12/28/10 and was in a 16/18 and am already into my 14's and they are fitting me like they are supposed to! I have now lost about 30 pounds total and have a long way to go. A size 12 would make me on top of the world too, so you just go on and on about how happy you are! Losing is the goal and every pound counts! Keep up the good work!

Hi...I am also very happy for you!! I was banded one month ago today, and I am going for my first fill tomorrow, 1/24/11. I am a little frustrated right now, since I lost 13 pounds within the first two weeks, and for the past two weeks, the scale hasn't budged! I am hungry alot, but I am not overeating, and I have been going to the gym, though only about 3 times a week. I haven't been able to do more than cardio so far, since the doc had me on no lifting more than 10 pounds for 6 weeks. Just starting week 5. I was wondering if you experienced these problems during your journey? I know it is early in my journey, but I expected a little more steady weight loss. Thanks for listening!

Marianne

Congrats on your weight loss. We had our surgery about the same time and our weight loss is similar. I started at 218 and got to onederland last month. I am now at 196 and am feeling great. Cannot wait to get into those size 9-12 again. Everyday I feel smaller, almost like I am shrinking.I am so thankful I had this surgery to save my life.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
