Flipped Port Fixed in Doctor's office

I've asked my Dr. if it is possible to fix a flipped port in the office. He replied, 'it's possible, but I won't do it.'

I get on here and there are least 2 other bandsters that have had this procedure done in their doctor's office. WOW, where can I possibly find one that will do it for me? My port sits at a 90 degree angle and is painfull being bounced on a hard matress going down the road (I driver team truck cross country) jabbing me and I've stopped wearing jeans.

X-rays actually show the port in it's proper position when I turn sideways. That is a cool picture, but not when I try to get a fill. Thank God the doctor numbs me first. Of course, I can't find anyone that wants to attempt a fill/unfill with it positioned like that. Yes, I'm also looking for a local dr. here in GA that will take over my aftercare so I won't have a 7 hour drive one-way. This is the biggest hassel cause I had surgery done in TJ, Mexico, MIDband and the port issue. Anyone got suggestions?

Thanks for listening to my ranting and raving.

Mine is slightly sideways too and I have to stand up to have a fill done because when lying down or sitting in a particular position it is too hard to get to. Sometimes when i wear tighter clothing i do feel it rub and I find myself pulling the waist band of my jeans up or below it to keep it from rubbing. My doctor felt that if I wanted it fixed she would surgically fix it but didn't think it was necessary to do that because she felt in time after losing more weight that it would probably lay correctly.

I think I'm getting used to it. Yours may protrude more though. I'm not sure even how it would get turned sideways like ours has. Maybe how it's sewn into the muscle or something.

I hope you find a resolve for it. For now I'm just holding out hoping that as i lose more it may settle in.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
